Perinatal Loss
The sudden and unexpected loss of a pregnancy or infant is devastating. We know that each family experiences grief differently, and we strive to help by offering support and reassurance so that no one has to face this loss alone. By connecting families to resources and others in this community, it is our hope that they will find comfort and guidance among others who understand. H.E.A.R.T.strings is available as a resource for anyone, regardless of whether or not they are a patient of Northside Hospital, for as long as they need us.
Perinatal Palliative Care
Our program cares for families whose babies will be born with a life-limiting diagnosis. Our goal is to prevent and relieve suffering, promoting and supporting the best quality of life for infants and their families. The services provided by H.E.A.R.T.strings do not hinge on the stage of the disease or the need for other therapies. In addition, palliative care can help with decision making and can be implemented with life-prolonging care, aggressive comfort therapies or as the main focus of care. For more information, please view our Perinatal Palliative Care page.
