The H.E.A.R.T.strings Perinatal Bereavement Office offers bereavement training classes to hospital employees who work with perinatal loss families. During these sessions, a variety of topics are covered: unique aspects of perinatal grief, communication skills (what to say and what not to say), and assisting families in crating memories. One of the most meaningful and useful aspects of the class is when parents are invited to share their hospital experiences. We are in need of moms, dads, and grandparents who are willing to speak about their experience in the hospital. If this is something you are interested in, please contact our office at (404) 851-8177 or firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about how you can be a part. Classes are offered on both Atlanta and Forsyth campuses, and we welcome you to be a part of either. In the past, parents who were on the panel have said the opportunity was a healing and helpful experience. They were able to reinforce the positive aspects of the care they received, as well as to provide insight and suggestions for improving and enhancing the treatment and support offered to families in the future.
Memory Box Decorating
We invite you to decorate memory boxes with us! You can do this at home and bring them in or schedule a time to volunteer in our office to decorate boxes. Any patient that has a loss at Northside Hospital receives a memory box to hold keepsakes they collect during the often brief time they spend with their baby. It is such a special touch when patients receive a box that has been uniquely decorated. Click on the button below to see examples of decorated boxes.
