The TEARS Foundation Angel of Hope Monument
The Georgia Chapter of TEARS will be getting an Angel of Hope Monument installed in the fall of 2017; one of only six monuments of its kind in the country. The TEARS Angel of Hope Monument is a sculpture of an angel holding a baby with a short message of hope inscribed on the stone. On each side of the Angel there are butterfly wings where we will have baby’s names engraved on each wing. They are offering an opportunity for everyone in Georgia who would like to have a baby’s name (or last name) engraved on the wings to have that chance.
The monument will be located at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA, a quiet place with benches where families can come to reflect and remember their child. Names will be engraved once or twice a year; there will also be a large event held on September 30, 2017 for the unveiling of the monument where families can see the initial engraving of the baby’s names, take pictures, etc.
There are three ways that families can have a baby’s name added to the monument: (1) Make a one-time donation of $250 for the cost of engraving (2) join the TEARS Guardian Angel Club monthly giving program with a monthly pledge of $20 (minimum 12 month commitment) or (3) Fundraise $500 for the annual TEARS Rock & Walk remembrance walk on April 22, 2017. Families can visit our website at www.thetearsfoundation.org/georgia to apply or to get more information on the monument.
For any families that might not be able to pay the $250 to have a name engraved on the monument we are offering an incentive for our Rock & Walk event on April 22nd. If a family wants to register for the walk and fundraise at least $500 we will have a baby's name engraved on the monument for free. (People are also more than welcome to gift this to individuals as well.) Families can register for the walk att www.crowdrise.com/georgiarockandwalk
